::: Organ Consultant :::
Lucius R. Weathersby, Ph.D. (1968-2006)

In Memoriam:
Dismayed and in deep compassion we became aware of the death of Lucius R. Weathersby. We all can not believe the tragedy and we want to declare our deep sympathy.

We lost a a true humanitarian and good person, who found many friends during his visit in Germany.

Lucius Richard Weathersby, Ph. D.

I am Lucius R. Weathersby former assistant professor of music and African World Studies at Dillard University in New Orleans.  Presently, I am a visiting Artist/Professor of Music Amherst College and Director of Music Ministries at South Congregational Church, Springfield, MA. I would like to use this as a letter of intent for information for possible job opportunities.  I hold degrees from Dillard University, University of Northern Iowa and the Ph.D. in interdisciplinary studies with a specialty in music theory and creativity from the Union Institute in Cincinnati, OH.  I have also had advanced studies in hymnology and the German language.

As an administrator, I was Interim Dean of Humanities and Chair of Music at Dillard University.  For more than five years, I was founder and director of the First Congregational Concert Series and the Second Sunday Concert Series in Phoenix, Arizona.

As a concert artist, lecturer and conductor, I have performed over one hundred (100) concerts in Europe, Central America and the USA.  I am presently represented by the Kingsdale Artist Agency

As a recording artist, I have recorded for the Albany Label (UK and USA) and Starmundi (Italy).  In the summer of 2004, I performed the complete organ works of Fela Sowande in commemoration of the centennial of his birth. This past November I recorded a CD in Germany sponsored by the Hey Organ Company to benefit organist who were impacted by Hurricane Katrina.

In connection with my teaching and research obligations, I have successfully raised over $300,000.00 in unrestrictive funds for civic and educational organizations, and have written grants, which were funded, by the Louisiana Board of Regents and the Ford Foundation for the Arts.

I am confident that my varied educational experiences have prepared me for various positions within your institution.  If given the opportunity to talk with you, I will elaborate on how I can advance your institution.

Again thank you for your time.

Respectfully yours,

   Lucius R. Weathersby, Ph.D.
